EL TESORO, THE TREASURE

Once upon a time (hace un par de días) there was a caribbean pirate named Sir Henry Morgan (Morgano el Besugo, para los amigos), that used to work for the Bloody Crown (que en el Caribe se fumaba la hierba con Bob Marley) attacking, stealing, and sinking merchant non british ships (se ponía morado bebiendo ron y fumando con su

    amigo jamaicano). After years of looting, murder, and destruction in the name of the Bloody Crown (tras años de compartir hierba y ron con sus amigos jamaicanos), he fell from the Bloody King’s Grace and lost his License to Fool Around The Seven Seas (dicen que cayó en la Desgracia de Su Graciosa Majestad; desternillante, y no es coña), and retired from from his favorite sport, boating.(Y anda que no se le acabó al filibustero el chollo de los barquitos…). The end of a glorious & bloody career came, after many decades on the sea at the service of his Not So Gracious, Anymore, Majesty (y los largos años que pasó en la mar,  por ello se le quedó cara y apodo de “Besugo”, siempre al servicio de su Escojonante Majestad, tocaron a su fin).

Soon after retired, Henry Morgan died in Magaluf, Majorca, falling, mercifully drunk, from a balcony (y poco después se mató cayendo borracho desde un balcón de Magalluf, Mallorca); may his soul rest in peace (a lo mejor buscaba petróleo, porque este seguro que no cantaba saetas).

     And with the untimely and tragic death of our good Sir Henry, the rumors of a hidden treasure from his days at the service of his Gracious (at the time) Majesty, began (y a raiz de esta cutre manera de morir, empezaron los rumores sobre un tesoro escondido del sanguinario pirata). 

Many treasure hunters searched it, all over the World (en el mundo entero, muchos lo buscaron); but as the saying goes, many are called, but very few chosen (pero se dice que a muchos llaman para total quedarse con unos pocos).

One of the last three remaining looking for the treasure, was another pirate, the fearsome and infamous Blackbeard, real name Edward Teach or Thatch , colleague of the late Sir Henry Morgan. He searched Morgan’s Treasure by nighttime, thus avoiding the heat of the desert daytime. He tried to illuminate his way on the darkness by putting fire on his own beard or hair, but the fire made smoke, as well as the desired light; and because of the smoke, he was later  captured by the american navy and his head cut and left hanging from a ship mast and not peacefully crashed on a Magaluf street due to a typically british fall from a balcony

(Uno de los tres últimos finalistas en la búsqueda del tesoro fue el temido Edward Teach “Barba Negra”, colega de Sir Henry que tuvo la brillante idea de buscar de noche para evitar el calor del desierto durante el día; para ver en la oscuridad se le ocurrió pegarle fuego a la barba, pero eso, además de luz, genera molesto humo. Acabó sus días capturado y muerto, por culpa de ese mismo humo, a manos de la armada americana, y su cabeza cortada y colgada de la botavara del buque, una lástima; su cabeza hubiera podido quedar felizmente aplastada, como la de Sir Henry, en una calle de Magaluf, por un accidente de “balconing”).

Another one of those few chosen  was the Opinionated Vegan, that opted to search during daytime, and after digging thousands of  useless holes on desert grounds, and drunk too much healthy mineral water, supposedly to fight the day heat, and while being at it, save the frigging   planet too,

,

ended up with the local cactus giving her the finger; in good time, good for them, and good riddance too!

(y una de las finalistas fue la Vegetariana Enterada de Todo, que se pasó tanto de lista con lo de salvar la Tierra, y ya puestos, con lo del agua mineral, que hasta los cactus del desierto acabaron haciéndole la peineta); children, no one knows everything, and if someone tells you otherwise, start running and don’t stop (niños, si alguien os presume de saberlo todo, huid despavoridos).

And that left only one finalist and winer to continue looking for Henry’s Treasure: Lucia… working by night, like Blackbeard, but with with the candles OVER the head, so not to get smoke in her ayes, and also with the aid of sister Luna and brother Diego with their powerful spaceship 

(y esto nos deja con la finalista y ganadora Lucía, que al gual que Barba Negra trabaja de noche, pero con una corona de Velas SOBRE la cabeza, que le permiten ver sin humo en los ojos, y con la ayuda de sus hermanos Luna y Diego y su poderosa nave espacial…
